Educational Leaders might use blogs to gather general
information on what most people think about a certain situation or issues the
school might be facing. A leader can also use blog as a tool to understand how
people feel about a decision that was made and the blog can sometimes influence
the person’s decision for the future.

Action Research
Action research is a very powerful tool for improving school
systems. Unlike the traditional educational research, action research involves
putting the research to practice. Action research is based on: what works, what
needs to be improved and what needs to be thrown out. There is nothing like
practicing and implementing your believes rather than addressing them without
any further actions. Sometimes one can make better decision when asked to
self-assess him/her self and see how he/she can improve in what is lacking and find a solution to the problem. Sometimes teachers collaborate and help each
other in their professional developments. Action research requires identifying a
problem, gathering information on how to solve/handle the problem, analyze the
information gathered, act on the solution and evaluate the result. Sometimes action research requires acquisition
of knowledge and social change; participants are empowered and may require
collaborative decision making. Most Action researches are done by hands on
school leaders such as principals and teachers; it can go from professional development
activities, leaders development programs, network group of professionals that
learn from practice, improving standards that require visionary, strategic
planning, to many more issues. As an educational leader I and others can
benefit from action research because it involves implementing your believe and
it helps you grow as well as learn from your mistakes.
