UDL Lesson Reflection

My Universal Design for Learning (UDL) lesson was based on place values.  My plan was based on teaching students more effective methods of calculating and writing numbers and understanding their place values; this plan was mainly focused on grade levels 4th thru 6th graders.  Students will not only be aware of place values but will also understand the rules of numbers in place values and know how to apply them when adding and subtracting numbers. Students will also understand how to apply place values with whole numbers and decimals. In order to make the lesson lively students will be asked to play place value games and will also be allowed individual time to work out some problem on their own. Students will be addressed in groups and individually; their progress will be measures by their scores to 5 questions that will be given to them after group and personal practices. The plan is to address any missed questions and have the students correct themselves.  At the end of the lesson students will be ready to graduate to the next level of place value. The lesson plan was designed for student with different learning patterns.
